Will there be a second stimulus check? How Much and When?

Both Senate Republicans and Democrats are in support of sending another round of $1,200 stimulus checks

Tresury secretary Steven Mnuchin said there’s little contention around the check.

There is even talk that some families can count on even more than they received from the last bill depending on final eligibility requirements.

It’s possible that the HEALS act could follow the same payment guide lines that were set out in the CARES act, but with a new adjustment for dependents.
-If you didn’t qualify for the $500 for additional defendants last time you may receive that this time.
-The first stimulus check left out any dependent 17 or older and university students under 24

Here’s where things are being held up

Republicans want the extra $600 weekly unemployment reduced (they think it deters people from going back to work, what do you think?)

Democrats on the other hand want more money for state governments and unemployment benefits.

This is why we haven’t seen much movement on the second stimulus package

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said there are more unresolved issues than resolved issues.

There’s been some talk about the Trump administration possibly using executive powers.
-Supplement unemployment.
-Stopping evictions for certain renters.
-Suspend payroll tax collection

The big problem is that senate is scheduled to leave for an August recess by the end of this week.
(I personally don’t think they will have a resolution by then, what do you think?)
