7. Assembly & Shipping

Описание: In this final segment we get a glimpse at the assembly, packaging, and shipping processes. The cabinet parts that required finishing are married up with the other parts coming directly out of the cutting / fabricating area, again each job is kitted and we build and package one kitchen at a time. About 80% of the cabinets will go through the main line in a “one piece flow”, the cabinets are assembled on their sides then they move through an automated feed through clamp. A carcass erector re-positions the cabinet into its upright position, the doors are drilled and hung on the cabinets one at a time, the drawers are built at the same time and installed as the cabinets passed by the work center then the drawer fronts are attached, and the cabinets are inspected for quality assurance. The cabinets are then packaged, labeled, placed on pallets and shrink wrapped. The completed pallets are then scanned and loaded into trailers for distribution. The auxiliary or second assembly line is where the tall, angle, corner or other cabinets that have a long takt time or are too large to go down the main line are produced they utilize a case clamp and follow a similar process as the main line. All remaining parts that go into a cabinet are packaged and prepared for shipping in the miscellaneous work center and meet up with the rest of the kitchen prior to being loaded into the trailers.
