Iridescence in clouds, also called irisation, is when light is scattered by water droplets, ice crystals, or even tiny particles floating in air like pollen. The colors and the brightness of the iridescence depend on the size of those objects, and the angle of the sun. You can spot blue, pink, red, purple and other colors. Natural Iridescence changes over time, and is more common in thin clouds, especially on their edges, when they are close to the sun.
