Описание: This is video of us exploring The Impossible Railway! The Impossible Railway, otherwise known as the Carrizo Gorge Railway was built by The San Diego and Arizona Railroad in 1919. This railway crosses 14 trestles and goes through 21 tunnels in only 11 miles. The rail line was one of the most expensive ever built in the U.S., costing almost $19 million in 1919. The successor of The San Diego and Arizona Railroad would be the Southern Pacific Railroad as they operated between San Diego and El Centro California. As time went on tunnel collapses, landslides, and fires would shut this railway down permanently. Now it's a great hiking destination and we were lucky enough to capture some of the amazing areas on this rail line. We even found some abandoned GP40-2 locomotives and included some old footage from when the rail line was operational.
