The Patek Philippe 5960/1A Annual Calendar Chronograph is an exceptional piece, adding some sports style into the classic Patek collection. This 2014 Baselword novelty is a change of pace.

The modern 40.5mm size is paired with a full 5-link polished, stainless steel, bracelet with conforming links to the end of the case. The first generations of the 5960 were fitted on a strap giving it a dress watch feel while being on a bracelet is much sportier.

The double deployant clasp is very low profile but incredibly secure on the wrist. The broad channels between the links makes this watch perfect for wearing during the hot summer days.

The case features compound curves, especially in the lugs, which allow it to hug the wrist.

What really transforms the look of this watch is the dial. The dial, while it may look both silver or white, is in fact an Opaline silver dial. This Opaline gives the two-tone coloration depending on the light and environment the watch is seen in.

Diving into the details on the dial, you'll see blackened hands and hour markers. They may look black but they are gold underneath the black color to provide contrast.

This is a highly complex watch with a complex movement. The vertical clutch allows the chronograph seconds to be run as a constant seconds without damaging the movement.
