If you are feeling sluggish, lacking energy and motivation for the day…odds are your daily routine is not a “routine”. Having a daily routine helps you get into a rhythm, and have more energy for the day.

I want to help you have more energy, strength, and drive. AND the best way to do that is to give you the perfect daily routine for men over 40.

I will try to be a little more generic with time…as men over 40 have different schedules, especially when it comes to work.

So, here is a routine that you should try to help you get back on track, having more energy and motivation each day.

#1: Stop snoozing your alarm. If you are slow to get out of bed, you are going to be slow to start your day. ALSO, if you delay getting out of bed, you might be running late. What does running late do…it causes STRESS. No one wants to start their day with stress, so eliminate the opportunity for stress first thing in the morning.

#2: Start your day with something small to eat, maybe some coffee, and drink WATER. You wake up thirsty, drink some water then stop there. It is important to drink water in the morning, to avoid being dehydrated early in the day. If you are fasting, you can just have some coffee and water. If you are not fasting, have something small for breakfast.

#3: Stay active throughout the day. Most people work in the morning, into the afternoon. If you have a desk job, it is especially important to make sure you are doing some sort of physical activity throughout the day. Get up and go for a short walk around the office. ALSO, it is helpful to plan your lunch the day before, so you don’t have to worry about what you are going to eat.

#4: Going into the evening, if you didn’t work out in the morning, do a workout now. (Unless it is a rest day). After your workout, you have your dinner meal, and maybe a little snack later in the evening. Try to avoid eating a few hours before you go to sleep, if you can.

#5: Avoid drinking water a couple hours before bed. If you are staying hydrated throughout the day, this shouldn’t be an issue for you. Even if you do drink water before bed…before you shut your eyes to sleep, GO TO THE BATHROOM, even if you think you don’t need to. This will help with the last final part of the routine…

#6: GET SLEEP! It is important to try and get a good 8 hours of sleep. Part of it is going to bed at a decent time, and part of it is making sure you sleep through the night. Pee before bed because one of the main reasons you wake up from restful sleep, is to go to the bathroom. Focusing on this, and you are going to notice a difference when you sleep through the night. Have a cold and dark room, and even white noise if you need it. Sleeping through the night doesn’t help for the previous day, it helps set you up for an energy filled day the next day.
