I’m 47 years old. Diagnosed with lgmd2A in 1995 at the age of 17.
I got this Quantum Edge 3 power chair in August 2023. It was in December of 2022 where I noticed I was getting weaker physically. I didn’t want to be stuck in a scooter waiting to get a power chair so I started the process. It took 3-4 months from filing the paperwork with insurance until I got the chair.
If you’re noticing it’s getting harder to move around then I suggest you start the process of getting a chair. You don’t have to use it all the time and it doesn’t mean the disease is winning.
Since I got this chair it has brought so much more freedom and less worry when going out.
