My name’s Greg. I’m the founder of Greasebook and the creator of TinyPumper.

I’m not a pumper or a production engineer—but I talk to hundreds of ‘em every month.

The software we built now helps manage over 10,000 pumpers and tens of thousands of wells.

From small family outfits to publicly traded operators, we serve independents only—and we’ve become the fastest-growing app in the oil patch because of it.

Over the past decade, we’ve had a front-row seat to what actually works out in the field.

My goal with these videos?

How We Got Here…

📍 2007 – Steve Jobs unveils the iPhone.
📍 2008–2010 – The App Store launches. Mobile eats the world.
📍 2011 – Greasebook launches its first app. It was a David vs. Goliath setup—and most small producers were left behind. Greasebook set out to flip the script. By putting simple, powerful tech in the hands of independents, we didn’t just help them catch up—we helped them leapfrog the big boys.
📍 2012–2017 – Heads down, built the team. Went through the school of hard knocks—and we’ve got the chops (and scars) to prove it. Greasebook wasn't built by consultants in a conference room.
It was built from conversations on tailgates and lease roads—with pumpers and producers calling the shots.
📍 2018 – Word spread. Crossed 5,000 pumpers on the platform. Tried building our own SCADA engine. Spun it down the same year 😅 Turns out: legacy SCADA is complex, brittle, and a poor fit for sub–15 barrel/day wells. That same year, Greasebook became the fastest-growing app in the oil patch.
📍 2019 – After wrestling with legacy SCADA, we saw the writing on the wall: It was too complex, too costly, and not built for the kind of wells independents actually run. So we asked: what if we used the same guts as a smartphone? Hardware tough enough for the oilfield. Cheap enough to scale. That’s the democratization of technology. We set out to build a simpler, more cost-effective way to monitor marginal wells in real-time—using the same playbook that made Greasebook the fastest-growing app in the oil patch: Simplicity. Cost-effectiveness. Field-first design. The result? A better mousetrap. That mousetrap became TinyPumper.
📍 2022 – Piloted first TinyPumper installs in Oklahoma. Self-installs. Low cost. High value. Real-time data. A centralized place from which everyone in the field and office could work. No complexity. No trenching. No techs. No BS.
📍 2023 – Full rollout of TinyPumper. Real-time visibility finally made practical—and affordable—for small producers. No big checks. No long-term commitments. 60-day risk-free trial.
