In this vlog, I take you deep into a traditional Sarpa Kavu (Sacred Grove) to witness:
The Nagakalam: Intricate, colorful floor art hand-drawn using natural powders like turmeric, rice flour, and charred husk.
Pulluvan Pattu: The hauntingly beautiful melodies played on the Pulluvan Veena and Kudam.
The Trance: Watching the performers enter a divine state, swaying to the rhythmic chants until the Kalam is erased in a powerful finale.
This isn't just a performance; it’s a living tradition that connects us to nature and our ancestors.
