In Assam, admission into Higher Secondary (H.S.) 1st Year (Class 11) is a centralized online process managed by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) through the DARPAN portal.


The entire process must be completed online; offline admissions are generally not entertained.

Registration: Visit the Official DARPAN Portal or the AHSEC website and register using your HSLC Roll Number and a unique mobile number.
Profile Completion: Log in to fill in your personal details, academic history, and upload necessary documents (listed below).
Applying to Institutions: You can select and apply to a maximum of five (5) institutions (colleges or senior secondary schools).
Checking Selection Status: Institutions will publish Merit Lists and Waiting Lists on the portal. You will typically receive an SMS notification if selected.
Acceptance: Once selected, you must log in to "Accept" the admission offer from your preferred institution. You can only accept one offer.
Physical Verification: Visit the institution with your original documents to finalize the admission.
