SINGAPORE: Major-General Ng Chee Meng is the new Chief of Defence Force (CDF), taking over from Lieutenant-General Neo Kian Hong on Wednesday.
A Change of Command Parade was held at the SAFTI Military Institute on Wednesday, and witnessed by Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen.
During the parade, Major-General Ng - the former Chief of Air Force (CAF) - received the SAF's symbol of command from the outgoing CDF, Lieutenant-General Neo.
Dr Ng presented Major-General Ng with the Letter of Appointment and a command plaque to outgoing Lieutenant-General Neo for his successful command of the SAF.
Major-General Ng, who joined the SAF in 1986, has held several key appointments, including Head, Air Plans Department; Commander, Changi Air Base; and Director of Joint Operations.
