Finnish dancefloor stalwart Joonas Hahmo returns with a storming new record that straddles deep vibes and euphoria, with an extra dose of driving percussion shaping its identity. 'African Dreams' draws on hypnotic tribal influences to conjure a bigroom energy with a difference.
It’s already secured Hahmo early support from Armin van Buuren, and impressed Above & Beyond so much they invited him for a guest mix on their Group Therapy radio show. 'African Dreams' is a precisely tuned peaktime effort that builds from its foundation of tribal progressive towards one big explosive blast of gorgeous euphoric melody.
'African Dreams' represents the zenith of 2016 for Hahmo, consolidating the excitement around Tom Fall’s remix of his classic ‘Brainflush’ earlier this year. Alongside deeper summery treats like ‘Lonkero’, Hahmo has equally flirted with the mainstage the past few years, with weapons like ‘Gold Rush’ earning support from Tiësto, Hardwell, W&W and beyond.
