Project Seahorse: Restoring a 1974 O'day Mariner 19 Sailboat, Episode 10
The third part of the Hull-to-Deck Joint Repair series. In this episode, I layup fiberglass along the exterior of the boat (along the external flange which is beneath the rubrail). This ended up in absolute failure, and I had to clean it all up and start over from the beginning. A very time-consuming and expensive mistake. Stay tuned for a fourth part on the exterior repair which includes FINISHING the flange and a repair over a large crack in the hull.
The Mariner 19 has a large following of many owners, an active forum with repair and restoration information, and plenty of parts still available.
