To start #SampleTopia, let's begin with where the practice of including interactive samplers with Windows began, with Windows 95.
Well, at least the OEM CD release of 95's RTM, which includes the "Microsoft Exposition", a more basic but significantly more jam-packed sampler featuring little slideshow-esque walkthroughs of various Microsoft products, from Office 95 to the original Natural Keyboard (even featuring what the Windows key did in Windows 3.1, at least if you used IntelliType), to even fucking Microsoft BOB. While not as famous as the samplers which followed, it does set the stage for them.
