The story of Night Bird started with a happy accident: the bass line was mistakenly copied onto the track that triggered the sampler. This vocal pattern then became the recurring backbone running through most of the piece. The quartal chords create a mysterious, unresolved atmosphere, while the voice from Burundi adds its unique touch of magic.
