What’s the one big concern people have about buying a used electric car? We’ll tell you - it’s battery life. We all know that batteries degrade over time (just as internal combustion engines wear out), but given that the oldest electric cars on our roads are still only 12 years old, there’s not a great deal of data when it comes to how long batteries actually last.



But the signs are good. There are now some VERY high mileage electric cars out there, including the car we’re driving in this video. Our Tesla Model S has clocked up nearly 260,000 miles in its life-time - way more than most cars are likely to manage in a lifetime.



Question is, does it still drive and how far will it go on a charge? How healthy is the battery after ten years of mega annual mileages and countless supercharging sessions? To find out, Nicola took the mega-mile Model S on a road trip to visit electric car specialists Cleevely EV who service, repair and sell electric cars.
