Sityodtong fighters in the golden era were some of the greatest technicians to ever live. Yodtong Senanan produced over 57 world champions and Chatchai Paiseetong was one of them.

In the year of 1993, Chatchai rose through the ranks to capture the Lumpinee Stadium title. Chatchai would capture the title in this bout from none other than Charoensap Kiatbonchong, the reigning champion and the fighter of the year in 1992.

In this fight, Chatchai displays a beautiful femur style, out maneuvering all of Charoensap's aggression. My favorite part to Chatchai is how he would always borrow the opponent's pressure and reverse them at the ropes, a consistent tactic he used against many of the golden era elites.

In this fight, he did 3 rope reversals, all of which were spectacular, and 2 included stunning counters. On top of that, Chatchai finished the fight with what I'd call a sling slot spinning elbow, which was absolutely spectacular.

Sityodtong fighters were never short of innovative technique, and it's a shame that not all of it were captured on film and released. Luckily, Sityodtong's champions and conservators are some of the most influential martial artists in the world today.
