Everyone dreads this job, but again if it's piped own then it's actually not that bad a job. Once you have the pump out you can easily get to the plate and the PRV.
If it's rear piped however then most of the time you won't have the space behind the plate to push it back as the pipes going up the back will be pushing it back into the block so you'd have to take the complete block out altogether to change the plate .
I mistakenly said my temp differences were 12 and 40 degrees, but I meant 18 and 40 degrees! Using the Testo 115i Bluetooth smart probes which are very handy for these sort of diagnoses.
