The Gauteng Health Department has been bedevilled by misfortunes, from corruption to service delivery failures, and disasters such as vandalism and fires in the case of Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. Delivering the department's R 60 Billion budget allocation for the year 2023/24 yesterday, the Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko says despite the numerous challenges, including limited resources, overcrowding and overworked healthcare professionals, things have changed for the better in the last few months since she assumed duty. According to Ralehoko, Gauteng's healthcare facilities are once again reclaiming their historic position. Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko joins us virtually.
