Carpal tunnel syndrome Part 3 in Telugu Durkans test #shorts
Durkans Test is also also called as Carpal Compression Test and the purpose is to
diagnose carpal tunnel syndrome by directly compressing the median nerve.
The examiner places their thumbs directly over the carpal tunnel which is just distal to the wrist crease, over the flexor retinaculum and firm pressure is applied for thirty seconds.
The patient experiences pain, numbness, or tingling in the median nerve distribution (thumb, index, middle, and radial half of the ring finger).
Durkans test is often considered more sensitive than Phalens or Tinels for carpal tunnel syndrome.
