China's influence on UK universities: risk vs reward

China is set to overtake the US to become both the world’s biggest spender on R&D and the UK’s most significant research partner, raising pressing questions for policymakers at a time of rising geopolitical tensions.

A report (linked below) from the Policy Institute at King's College London and Harvard Kennedy School, led by former Universities Minister Jo Johnson, argues the extensive relationship with China across the UK's higher education system, in both teaching and research, is only partially understood. We need a more coherent strategy of measuring, monitoring and mitigating risks.
