Historyman presents the Battle of Hobkirk Hill with Charles Baxley of Southern-campaigns.org. Camden, SC was a hub of commerce and a British outpost in the back country of SC in 1781. Though British General Cornwallis had turned north toward Virginia with the bulk of his army, Nathaniel Greene led his Patriot force to the outskirts of the British outpost at Camden. Nathaniel Greene hoped to force Lord Rawdon out for battle. Rawdon did not disappoint and this second Battle of Camden was quick and sharp. Freedom Reigns at EKBarnes.com
