The Dirty Water Route is a 500 Kilometer trip through the backroads, backwoods, and out-of-the-way places in Ohio. It starts in South Point, Ohio at the Ohio River, and winds it's way north all the way to Lake Erie in Vermilion, Ohio. This video is the VLOG of the route creator and owner at Ashland Bike Company, Tony Bunt.
The film, titled "38 Hours on the Dirty Water Route," is meant to be inspiration for those that want to tackle the route, have an interest in bikepacking or ultracycling, or just love a good story of a guy riding his bike across the state of Ohio. While we are pretty good at bikes here at ABC, we don't claim to be pro-videographers or even pretend to be. We enjoy making these videos...
We want to thank companies that helped us out in this process: first and foremost, Tony at ABC has sacrificed a lot of time and energy into making this route. You can see more information at www.ashlandbikecompany.com. We also want to thank Rudy Project North America for sponsoring a raffle and providing Tony with some awesome kit for his eyes and head. We thank both Shimano and SRAM for making such great components for these endeavors, Dumonde Tech for making the world's best chain lube, Kenda Tires for the DWR tire of choice, the Alluvium Pro 700 x 40, Roval wheels, and Specialized Bicycle Components for the greatest bike possible for this type of thing, the Specialized Diverge. We also want to give a shout out to our new brand, Vaast Bikes for being open to supporting this video even though we decided to go low budget and not make a big production like originally planned due to Covid.
