Описание: when doing identity work in the question ‘how old does I feel?’ some clients tend to answer ‘2 years’ (in the sense that the problem is in their life since 2 years, not in the sense that I is a 2 year old child). I tend to work with whatever their answer is, but still wonder if answer A or B can have an influence on the outcome?

One client who’s stressed because she’s moving house, well her husbands actually building the house wanted to work on managing her stress and guilt for not being able to do more to help. So when I asked her to locate a memory with guilt attached to it, she hesitated & said well probably about 3 years ago when the build began.

I asked her if she had any earlier memories of feeling guilt, she said she had none. I dug a little deeper & enquired if this was actually a feeling of guilt? Because what she was explaining seemed like something different- he’s a builder she is not therefore was this a different emotion altogether, something like possibly feeling helpless or powerless to help in this situation. Yes,

I guess this is a little bit leading but I could sense that maybe she had given it the wrong label. She agreed that she did feel helpless in being able to support him in this situation. I asked if she could recall a memory where she felt like this before possibly when she was younger or at school? She could it was school and we worked on that & some others that came up.

She mentioned having issues with her mother in law & there were some other identity issues too but as this was the first session I said we would be working on these nxt time, although there was plenty of time left to do that. So my question for this client is was it ok to lead in this instance? And in a pure IEMT way was I right to bench the identity work till session 2?

During my initial fact finding introduction/recruitment she was wanting to work on stress specifically dealing with family, she’s moving abroad & her family aren’t taking it well. She’s wanting to work on not ruminating on these issues, stating things like ‘I’m just too sensitive’ & ‘my parents are acting really childish’ Which to me are all very identity based, so very session 2 stuff. Obvs I’m going to explore the stress & other neg memories where she’s felt related things but the identity stuff seems pretty important.
Am I allowed to address this stuff in session 1? I’m thinking by addressing them other neg memories will come up & like you said the major change work tends to happen in the first session the follow up is addressing or reiterating what we’ve done & addressing further identity problems. Is this right or am I completely off?

Do you have any tips on how to persuade a private clinic to treat clients with IEMT? The majority of their clients do DBT but they could really do with IEMT sessions after their DBT interventions due to their unprocessed traumas

I am in the US and the times you do the trainings doesn't work for me. Can you do them at any other times?

Can IEMT be using with ADHD clients?

I want to take the IEMT Training but I don’t have a therapy background. I don’t want to feel left behind if anyone else is a therapist.
