The Bog River Flow and Lows Lake in the Five Ponds Wilderness.

We paddled our way through tight, winding waters. Portaged our canoes past moss-covered ruins and historic dams. And were treated to floating bogs, scenic wetlands, mountain views and small sandy islands.

For three days and two nights, we camped on the shore of Lows Lake — surrounded by fiery autumn color, calling loons, and eagles soaring overhead. We climbed a mountain, watched morning fog drift mystically over Lows massive floating bog, and marveled at fire-painted sunsets.

This was more than a canoe trip — it was a retreat into peace, a chance to slow down, and to share quiet moments together in one of the Adirondacks’ most beautiful and remote places.
