Rosie Perez first rose to prominence when she starred in Spike Lee’s critically acclaimed comedy-drama Do the Right Thing. Before starring as Tina in Lee’s provocative story, she was discovered by the legendary director at a nightclub.
Perez went in to star in various other movies and received an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress for her role in Peter Weir’s 1993 film, Fearless. She also went on to make her Broadway debut in Terrence McNally’s Frankie and Johnny in The Clair De Lune.
