As a single mother, I prepare for the day and head to the village market to buy fresh foodstuffs needed for our family meal.

At the market, I select fresh ingredients commonly used in traditional African cooking before returning home to begin preparing the meal. Back in the compound, everyone plays a role in the cooking process. While I cook the soup, Grandma prepares the fufu the traditional way by pounding it carefully, just as it has been done for generations.

The children watch, learn, and take part in the daily rhythm of village life. When the food is ready, we gather together as a family to eat the freshly prepared soup with the fufu Grandma pounded.
