Here are five of my favorite bass parts from classic indie rock tunes of the 2000s! A great era for bass tunes, and for indie and alt jams in general.
1. Metric - Combat Baby. Driving, straight-ahead rock bass playing

2. Yeasayer - 2080. Groovy and melodic within an ethereal jam

3. Spoon - I Turn My Camera On. Sometimes you've got to keep it simple.

4. The New Pornographers - The Laws Have Changed. Just the right balance between straight root eighth notes and more dynamic variations.

5. The Shins - Australia. A beautiful, lyrical walking part that I could play all day long.
