#WATCH: Bago pa man si "Kokey" noong late 1990s, nauna nang nagpakilala ang ABS-CBN ng sariling alien character na si “XO” sa "four-in-one" fantasy telemovie na "Pinoy Fantasy."

Aside from the premiere telecast of "Eat…Bulaga!" on ABS-CBN via "Moving On," the fantasy telemovie titled "Pinoy Fantasy" also premiered on February 18, 1989, airing every Saturday at 6:00 PM. The program was created by director Argel Joseph, already known at the time for his work as the creator-director of Judy Ann Santos’ "Ula: Ang Batang Gubat" (1988).

Notable cast members included Alicia Vergel and Dante Rivero (who were the other two btw?).

Based on the ABS-CBN 1989 sales pitch, "Pinoy Fantasy" was positioned as one of the network’s most expensive daytime programs for advertisers, carrying a rate card of ₱12,000, alongside "Kasaysayan sa Likod" and the Jimmy Santos–led "Budoy."

1989 marked a banner year for ABS-CBN with major programs such as "Eat…Bulaga!," "Okay Ka, Fairy Ko!," "Coney Reyes on Camera," and "Agila" joining the Star Network under the slogan “Continue to Shine in ’89.” News programs "TV Patrol" and "The World Tonight" also achieved their widest nationwide reach through satellite and relay stations, covering both urban and rural areas.

According to Pulsitron’s April 1989 survey, "Pinoy Fantasy" registered a 16.6 rating, making it one of only three ABS-CBN daytime programs at the time to achieve double-digit ratings, together with "Budoy" and the highest-rated "Sine sa Dos" at 23.

Today, "Pinoy Fantasy" is regarded as one of the most obscure pieces of Philippine television lost media. No surviving episodes have surfaced to date, leaving this trailer as the only known remaining material from the once-aired program.
