KUOPION SAANA - KUOPIO SAUNA & SPA, Winter Pool & Lake Swimming, Temperature -26c (2024) (4K)

Описание: To start of the year, why not visit a local Sauna & Spa, even if the temperature got down to -26c.

Kuopion Saana was only a short Bus trip from Kuopio Market Square.

I had a 3pm to 5pm reservation, given I was catching public transport I arrived early, and even though it was just after 2:30pm was given access immediately, which was greatly appreciated.

After getting changed and using the provided secure locker, as is the requirement at all public Sauna's, you need to shower... then it was a beeline to the indoor hot tub (as it was empty).

Then it was time to brave the freezing cold, -22c at first, but as the evening took hold, it got down to a bone chilling -26c.

Before braving the Lake, first it was time to check out the infinity pool. The video does not do justice as to how good this pool looks, and whilst most of the year it probably feels like a heated pool, it was bitterly cold (significantly warmer than the air temperature though).

After some time in the pool, it was time to warm up in the Smoke Sauna (no video footage except for the outside of the building).

I highly recommend the smoke sauna, I am not sure of the technical differences, but it just felt better.

Then it was time to get into the lake...

Now that was an experience, and whilst I only recorded the first dip, it was followed by 2 others later in the evening (no video due to how dark it was).

Several transitions between either of the Sauna's and the pool/lake, and it was time to shower off, get changed and say goodbye.

I will definitely be back, and for reference, that nights sleep was perhaps the best sleep I have had in months, maybe years.

Huge shoutout to ‪@finnvoyager‬ after seeing the video by Sanna-Mari several months ago, it put Kuopio on the map for my travels.
