This trip has got to be one of the best in the area for an introduction to Slot Canyons. It will certainly give you a taste of what it is all about including the beauty that lies within these deep narrow gulches.

Most travel up Peek-A-Boo, and at it's top, exit to the South following a well worn trail to Spooky Gulch. From this point you go down the canyon to complete the loop. There are two things to be aware of before making the trip. Peek-A-Boo has a short scramble/climb up into the mouth of the canyon. It is about twenty feet or so. For those who are not fond of climbing a rope can be used as a hand line or belay for added security. At the top of Spooky there is a break down or pile of boulders that needs to be negotiated and again a line can be handy. This break down to me looks a little on the unstable side. I was careful not to pull on the loose blocks in fear of bringing down a house of cards. I would suggest using a bit of caution here. Moving through one at a time would be a good idea.

All in all it is fantastic short trip in the neighborhood of three miles.

When you drop down from the trailhead into the main canyon, it is called Dry Fork, you can also explore the narrows here if you head to the north upstream. The narrows are not as skinny as Peek-A-Boo or Spooky but worth checking out if time permits.
