Sola Ipsa is a screendance shot for Exhibition Space Dance 2021, an intenational event originated in Tokyo and held online in the times of pandemic.
The title stems from solipsism (latin solus ipse - "me, by myself" was changed to a feminine form sola ipsa). It refers to an unexpected quarantine which forced me to make the video entirely by myself (choreographing, dancing, shooting, image and sound editing).
Incidentally, "me, by myself" ("ja siama" in Polish) was also a playful nickname my parents gave me when I was little - because each time someone offered me help, I would immediately answer "no! by myself". And this was even before I learnt to properly pronounce "sama".
