Today we are making a simple yet delicious sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast. It takes less than 20 minutes and it's better than restaurant.
Ingredients:
1/2 pound breakfast sausage(any kind works)
2-3 TBSP of bacon grease or 2-3 TBSP butter
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 cups milk approximately(depending on the desired thickness of your gravy)
a dash of red pepper flakes(optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Begin by browning your 1/2 pound of sausage in the skillet. It usually does not produce enough grease so when its almost done browning, add the bacon grease. Alternatively you could use butter instead. Once completely browned and make sure there is at least 1-2 tbsp of grease/butter in there, then add the flour. Stir until you no longer see the flour, then gradually add in the milk a little at a time, stirring constantly. Add the salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Keep stirring, your gravy will thicken as you stir. Once you have reached your desired consistency, remove from heat, scoop on top of your biscuit and ENJOY!😊
