Installing and Configuring Free HD Boot on a 2 TB Drive, and Installing PS2 Games With HDLBatch

A memory card loaded with FMCB. These can be purchased preloaded from Ebay/Amazon/etc.
A fat PS2
A network adapter. An official one is much more reliable than the aftermarket ones.
A SATA adapter board if you're using a SATA HDD. These are very easy to install.
A USB flash drive formatted to FAT32

If you bought a preloaded FMCB memory card, make sure all apps are the latest versions. Some apps could be outdated.

There are many other apps for FMCB/FHDB. If all you want to do is play official game discs or backups copied to the HDD, then this is all you need.

I recommend installing FHDB even if you plan to use your FMCB memory card as your main. It's always good to have a backup in case something goes wrong. Having FHDB installed will not cause any issues running FMCB.

Some backups or hacks/translations may need specific settings to run. These should be well know, and if you're playing a hack/translation this info should be provided in the readme for the patch.
