Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India on 4-5 December 2025 to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One of the biggest outcomes of this visit will be the final approval of a new military agreement called the Reciprocal Exchange of Logistics Agreement, or RELOS.This agreement will allow Indian warships and military aircraft to refuel, restock food and supplies, and carry out small repairs at Russian ports and air bases. In return, Russian ships and planes will get the same facilities at selected Indian bases. It will help Indian Navy ships reach far into the Arctic region using Russian northern ports, and give Russian Navy easier access to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean through Indian facilities.The pact is important because it deepens trust between the two countries and makes joint military operations smoother without permanent foreign bases on each other’s soil. Both sides have been discussing this for years, and the final go-ahead is now expected just before or during Putin’s visit.
