Bristol Bay, Alaska is a place of abundance, where a tapestry of rivers, wetlands and tundra produce half the world’s wild sockeye salmon. Every summer, tens of millions of salmon return to the watershed, generating a pulse of life that is critical to the region’s 31 tribes, the world’s largest commercial sockeye fishery and a vast array of wildlife. For decades, this extraordinary system has been threatened by the proposed Pebble Mine, but we’re working with local leaders and partners in the region to ensure Bristol Bay's life-giving waters flow into the future.
