Railpro battery remote control system install in a Bachmann Big Hauler 4-6-0 Ten-wheeler locomotive

Описание: I took an inexpensive Bachmann Big Hauler 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler locomotive and installed a Railpro battery powered remote control system. This locomotive is around 30 years old and on the low end of quality having the plastic driving rods.

For those on a budget this can be a good starter locomotive to get into the G Gauge hobby. Many of these low end Bachmann locomotives have, or will develop cracked plastic gears over time. There are replacements gears available, but will add to the cost and time to get your locomotive up and running.

Because these locomotives are widely available in the used/resale market it may be easier to just pick up another locomotive if your current one develops a problem. Since the system is in the tender, the tender can be put on the new locomotive. Only the power feed wire to the locomotive motor will need to modified along with removal of unnecessary wiring.

The junk locomotive can then be downgraded to a display engine on your layout. Or, remove the gearing so that it is free wheeling and put it behind the good locomotive so it looks like you are double heading locomotives.
