I cruise with "Sweden's best ferry company" - Eckerö Linjen

Описание: Eckerö Linjen, the small ferry company that ships both cargo, cars and pedestrian passengers between Grisslehamn in Roslagen, Sweden and the island as well as the municipality of Eckerö at Åland, has won an award as Sweden's best ferry line!

Considering that the shipping company only has one ship, built in 1979, this can be considered quite remarkable. The motivation from those who voted for Eckerö Linjen was their good food, nice hospitality and that you get value for money. Although I traveled with them before, this gave me reason to experience them again! They have also refurbished their interior recently which I wanted to "inspect". :-)

Come along on board right from the start at the Central station in Stockholm where I took their own bus to Grisslehamn, a trip that is actually included in the paltry SEK 180 (USD 16) that the day cruise costs.

In the video, you can also follow along on a tour and see what I had in their à la carte restaurant. We peek into the duty free as well as a cabin and also Klubb Kuling where the daily entertainment was in full swing. The name of the artist performing in the video is Kire Ljung.

The journey over to Åland takes two hours, if you cruise out at 10am, you are back again at 2.30pm after a short stop in the harbor in Berghamn. Many take this day trip to eat their varied buffet, shop or just hang out.

For those on a tight budget, it is a fantastic opportunity to get all the way to Åland to be able to go on to one of the islands and experience nature and all of Åland's places of interest.
