On today's episode I'll make cocktail #2 of in Difford's Guide 258 Hall of Fame Cocktails. Today is the Affinity, a Scotch variant on the Manhattan that has been around since the 1920's. I used Shelter Point's Double Barrel Single Malt Whisky, a locally produced fantastic whisky that bears all the resemblance of Scotch in everything except the name (it can only be called Scotch if it's made in Scotland). As well, I chose to use Beaufort's Off-dry vermouth instead of the extra dry vermouth in Difford's that I felt would help balance the drink a bit better.

Affinity
30 ml Shelter Point Double Barrel Single Malt Whisky
30 ml Vermouth Amaro
30 ml Beaufort Off-Dry Vermouth
1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters

Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled cocktail coupe and garnish with a lemon twist.
