नई सरकार के गठन के बाद मणिपुर एक बार फिर से सुलग रहा है। शांति बहाली की तमाम कोशिशों के बीच हिंसा का दौर थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। ताजा मामला उखरुल जिले (Ukhrul District) में सामने आया। जहां एक बार फिर उपद्रवियों ने कानून व्यवस्था को चुनौती देते हुए भारी उत्पात मचाया है। जानकारी के मुताबिक, उखरुल के लिटान गांव (Litan Village) में हथियारबंद बदमाशों ने भीषण गोलीबारी की और 30 से ज्यादा घरों को आग के हवाले कर दिया। सरकार ने 5 दिन के लिए इंटरनेट बंद कर दिया है। घटना के वक्त गांव के अधिकतर लोग अपने घरों में सो रहे थे। अचानक गोलियों की तड़तड़ाहट से पूरा इलाका गूंज उठा। चश्मदीदों के मुताबिक, उपद्रवियों ने सुनियोजित तरीके से हमला किया। गोलीबारी की आड़ में उन्होंने पेट्रोल बम और ज्वलनशील पदार्थों का इस्तेमाल कर घरों में आग लगा दी। आग की लपटें इतनी तेज थीं कि देखते ही देखते दर्जनों आशियाने राख के ढेर में तब्दील हो गए।

According to eyewitnesses, the rioters launched a well-planned attack. Under the cover of gunfire, they set fire to houses using petrol bombs and inflammable materials. The flames were so intense that dozens of homes were reduced to ashes in no time.
