I absolutely LOVE using the crimp end caps I demonstrate in this tutorial. When I used to make and sell jewelry (now I just sell beads and findings), I used them exclusively. They are incredibly easy to use compared to crimp beads, and they give a clean and professional look.
I sell the crimp end caps and clasps used in this tutorial in my shop. They are both solid sterling silver. I provide links below within the material list.
If you just want to learn how to crimp the end caps, skip to 8:15 for the first end and 12:35 for the second end.
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:
1. Crimp End Caps: https://www.thebeadmix.com/products/s...
Here's a picture tutorial on how to use them as well: https://www.thebeadmix.com/pages/how-...
2. Clasp: You can use any clasp, but it must have an OPEN ring/loop to attach to the crimp end caps. You can find the one I use in the tutorial here: https://www.thebeadmix.com/products/s...
3. Beading Wire: I love using Accu-Flex 49-strand beading wire.
4. Ruler
5. Pliers: A sturdy pair of flat-nose pliers for the crimp end caps. These heavy-duty chain nose pliers also work well: https://www.thebeadmix.com/products/t...
Having a second pair of pliers handy is helpful for opening and closing the ring/loop on the clasp.
6. Wire Cutters: A narrow-tip pair is best for cutting excess wire.
7. Beads: You can use almost any size or type of beads with these crimp end caps. In the tutorial, I use my Patina Miyuki size 11/0 round seed bead mix. You can find this bead mix as well as other mixes and hundreds of single colors in my shop here: https://www.thebeadmix.com/pages/coll...
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!
