Young Male Hyrax Gets A Close Up

Описание: It's such a privilege when a hyrax will let you interact with them. It's really really not normal, and of course they are not pets and probably shouldn't be. It just so happens that in our neck of the woods some people are habitual enough that a curious hyrax may try to befriend a human - or humans end up rescuing orphans, ones that are abandoned by the colony (because they are born sickly) and those ones don't last long, but we try to give them some comfort. Finally, dogs are often crazy for attacking hyraxes - something about a hyrax is like dog bait. So we get some rescued from the grip of a local dogs bite - often in shock. When you take them in, they sometimes start to like the comfort of the indoors. Most of them return to the wild, but there are plenty of stories of injured little fuzz butts becoming part of the home. The wildlife service likes any reason to fine people, so most guys don't really share much if a wild hyrax ends up becoming part of the family. But rest assured, it's the furriest best little bud you can have if one chooses to hang out with the humans.

This one got clever, and started breaking into the house - but eventually I managed to keep him out. I don't know where he is now.
