STORYLINE:
From Taipei's Golden Melody Awards to Hong Kong's Asian Film Awards and Seoul's Blue Dragon Film Awards, 2025 saw Asian artists and filmmakers celebrated across the region's most prestigious ceremonies.

Recording artist Siri Lee emerged as one of the year's biggest music stars, scooping three top accolades at the 36th Golden Melody Awards in Taipei in June. The artist took home the Best Album of the year, Best Female Singer (in Taiwanese dialect) and Best Taiwanese (dialect) Album for her album "Sui."

"I am especially grateful that I create in Taiwan, because this album actually integrates Taiwanese and Mandarin, and also includes the sounds of Spanish, Japanese, and French," Lee said backstage. "This reflects the cultural background and process I have grown up with. Taiwan is a country with a very diverse linguistic and cultural environment."

In cinema, Chinese actor Tang Wei and South Korean actor Hyun Bin were among 2025's big winners.

Tang Wei received the Excellence in Asian Cinema Award at the 18th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong in March, honored for her contribution to the Asian movie industry. Hong Kong actor Sean Lau won Best Actor for his role in "Papa" at the same ceremony.
