JA India has been piloting work-force readiness programs uniquely tied to the Indian education context with a global purview of opportunities available to the students. Students are engaged from class V to XII through classroom programs and undergrad students get an opportunity to explore their skills through JA India competitions.

The overall Intent of Work Readiness Programs is to give children a structured methodology / an approach to deal with the complex and unknown World of Work which they will be integral part of. The programs designed are not so much as to give the right answers to the children as would be the case of career guidance programs, but to create an awareness of the world of work, a greater appreciation of what it constitutes, an understanding of self with respect the World of Work and some actionable steps that they can take to be a more informed and deliberate participant of this World of Work.

Being a better thought through decision, the overall result JA hopes for is a Work Ready individual who has gone through a right set of educational steps to get into a workplace

JA India achieved a significant milestone in March 2013, when the number of students who attended JA sessions in a calendar year, crossed 100,000 for the first time. Between April 2012 and March 2013, JA India has reached out to a total of 101,136 students through the JA work readiness programs as well as competitions. In the past year, JA India programs covered over 300 institutions across the 6 Indian cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore and towns/villages near them.

Over all since its inception JA India has interacted with 250,000 students across the country and is present in more than 400+ institutions.

JA India won JA Worldwide OutStanding New Member Award 2008-2009.
