Full version of 70mph tropical storm Isaías storm chase, as it quickly moved through the Mid-Atlantic region. I chased Isaías in Ocean City, Maryland, which received a significant hit as the center passed to the west of the city. Being in the eastern quadrant of a storm moving quickly northeastward (35mph) provided an excellent opportunity to document high winds, estimated based on observations, in the order of 60-70mph sustained with peak gusts in the 75mph-80mph range, with isolated higher gusts likely between buildings as a result of funneling effects.
