We’re back with another episode of Straight Talk With Scholten. This week, we’re talking about new bipartisan legislation I introduced to help slash the cost of child care through the Tri-Share Child Care Pilot Act.
Child care costs are crushing working families. Since 1990, costs have more than tripled, and for many parents, child care is one of their biggest monthly expenses. The Tri-Share model helps by splitting the cost of care three ways — between parents, employers, and the government — putting money back in families’ pockets while helping businesses retain and recruit workers.
Affordable child care is essential to families, employers, and our economy here in West Michigan. Let’s talk about how Tri-Share works and why this bipartisan solution matters for our communities.
