The concept of a "water engine" that runs directly on water is not feasible with current technology. While water can be used as a component in a system that produces energy (like in hydroelectric power plants or by using water to create hydrogen for fuel cells), it cannot be used as a direct fuel source in the way gasoline or diesel is used. Water is the product of burning hydrogen, and thus, it contains no stored energy that can be released to power an engine.
