Shimla Mirch Kadhi
Ingredients
FOR TADKA MASALA :
Curry leaves / Curry patta - A few
Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 Teaspoon
Ginger green chili paste / Adrakh hari mirchi paste - 1 Teaspoon
FOR KADHI :
Curd - 1 Cup
Gram flour / Besan - 2 Teaspoon
Oil - 1 Tablespoon
Mustard seeds / Rai - 1/2 Teaspoon
Asafoetida / Hing - 1 Pinch
Fenugreek seeds / Methi dana - 1/4 Teaspoon
Green chili / Hari mirchi - 1 Slited
Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
Colored bell peppers / Shimla mirch - 1 Cup, Finely chopped
Salt - As per taste
Coriander powder / Dhaniya power - 1/2 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander leaves / Dhaniya patta - A handful
Water - As required
FOR TADKA :
Oil - 1 Tablespoon
Whole dry red chili / Sukhi lal mirchi - 2
Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Instructions
1. PREPARING TADKA MASALA :
2. Take curry leaves. cumin seeds, ginger green chili paste in the mortar. Prepare its paste using pastle.
3. PREPARING KADHI :
4. Take curd in a bowl and beat it well. Add gram flour then mix it well. Add salt, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder, red chili powder. Mix well.
5. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, asafoetida, fenugreek seeds. Then add prepared tadka masala. Mix it well.
6. Now add slited green chili, turmeric powder. Mix well. Add bell peppers and saute it.
7. Add prepared curd mixture in the pan. Mix it well. Boil it on high flame. Stir it continously.
8. Add coriander leaves and mix it well. Add water to adjust consistency.
Boil it for 5 to 7 minutes, till comes one boil.
9. PREPARING TADKA :
10. Heat oil in a tadka pan. Add whole dry red chili and turn off flame. Then add red chili powder and pour it on kadhi.
11. Garnish it with coriander leaves and transfer it into a serving bowl.
12. Shimla Mirch Kadhi is ready to serve.

Prepare this dish using Homemade Curd
Adjust curd and gram flour quantity as required.
Use whole ginger-green chili instead of its paste, while preparing tadka masala.
You can use any bell pepper.
Do not overcook bell peppers, keep it crunchy.
Skip red chili powder in kadhi if you want.
Use ghee or oil for tadka.
