Tel Aviv residents rush to shelters amid reported Iranian missile attacks | ABS-CBN News

Описание: Residents of Tel Aviv and other parts of central Israel rushed into bomb shelters on Tuesday night as air raid sirens sounded amid what authorities described as an Iranian ballistic missile attack.

Footage shows people walking across a playing field toward a nearby shelter, while others stay outside to watch the interception as blasts and explosions echo in the distance.

Iran and Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, have been launching missile attacks on Israel intermittently following the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This comes after Israel and the United States launched joint airstrikes across Iran since Saturday, hitting sites they said were linked to Tehran's nuclear and ballistic missile programmes in a bid to eliminate what they described as 'existential threats.'

At the time of publication, at least 787 people had been killed across Iran, according to the Iranian Red Crescent.

As hostilities mount, air traffic across the Middle East has ground to a halt in several countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
