Luzhi Ancient Town belongs to Wuzhong District of Suzhou City, located in the east of Suzhou City, 18 kilometers from Suzhou city and 58 kilometers from Shanghai.

Luzhi Ancient Town is an ancient town with 2500 years of history in the south of the Yangtze River, with lots of water, bridges, lanes, ancient houses and famous people. The main attractions include Baosheng Temple, Ye Shengtao Memorial Hall, Jiangnan Cultural Park and so on.

Luzhi ancient town is surrounded by water, Cheng Lake, Wanqian Lake, Jinji Lake, Dushu Lake, Yangcheng Lake, and with Wusong River, Qingshui River, Dongtang River, Nantang River, Jipu River, Dazhi River going across the town.

The center of Luzhi Ancient Town is the confluence of three main rivers, namely South City River, East City River and West City River, and many other branch rivers are intricately intertwined, like a dense network, creating the unique situation that Luzhi is rich in rivers, bridges and water lanes.

The streets of Luzhi Ancient Town are divided into two categories. West and north of the river is the Shangtang Street, and south and east of the river is the Xiatang Street, mostly for commercial housing and residential areas. The general street width is 2.5-5 meters. Perpendicular to the river, the alleys (lanes) are generally about 1-3 meters wide, the longest lane up to 150 meters.
